Jeremy Grimaldi, a Canadian working in Swindon, has set up a Facebook
Group to bring together others from overseas.
“I have spent a year here without much luck in terms of fi nding good
groups of mates so I’ve decided to take my search into Europe and
beyond,” he writes on Facebook.
His suggestion of meeting up for drinks and meals, games of poker,
football and house parties has been well received and the group has
attracted over 60 members. Not all are from overseas; locals also join in
to enjoy the company of people from other cultures.
Members took part in the Mad March Hare (see page 30). Future
activities include salsa evenings and fathoming the rules of croquet.
