Mayor’s charity curry night for Pakistan fl ood victims
The Bombay Lounge restaurant at Peatmoor has responded to the Mayor of Swindon’s call for townspeople
to help the millions made homeless and dispossessed by the devastating fl oods in Pakistan.
The mayor Rex Barnett will be hosting a curry evening on Wednesday 29 September. He said, “I was fi lled
with horror to see the disaster unfolding on television. I am pleased Hanif at the Bombay Lounge has offered
profi ts from an evening there; I hope you will join me in raising money over a meal.”
To book a table call the restaurant on 887799. If you cannot attend, order a takeaway and have it delivered.
All profi ts will be donated to the mayor’s Pakistan fl ood appeal.

Quiz teams needed
The Mayor of Swindon Rex Barnett is organising the Great Big Swindon Quiz on Wednesday 15 September
and is looking for teams to support his charities - Prospect Hospice, CALM and Willows Counselling Service.
The event, organised in association with STEAM and Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce and supported
by Legal & General, takes place at Steam Museum. The cost of entry is £125 for teams of fi ve.
Make cheques payable to The Borough of Swindon Mayor’s Charities and send them with the team name
