Having previously relied on a makeshift marquee, the 7th Swindon
Scouts, including Cubs and Beavers, were in desperate need of a large
tent to provide a wet weather recreation area and cooking space.
The 7th Swindon Scouts attend around eight camps a year, many with
other local troops and groups from across the country.
In June some 500 and 600 scouts from the district will be joining The
Giant Sleepover, the world’s biggest simultaneous sleepover, at Roves
Farm near Highworth.
Mark Allen, assistant scout leader, said: “We’d like to say a big thank
you to Crest Nicholson for coming to our rescue.”
