When Lydiard Park was a PoW camp
A fascinating exhibition at Lydiard House illustrates how the events and
sports pitches in the park were covered in huts and used as a hospital for
up to 200 German prisoners in the latter part of World War II.
Thanks to a recent loan of documents and photographs by Elaine New-
combe-Jones, the story of 160 Camp, a hidden part of West Swindon’s history,
