West skate park plan delayed whilst more sites are considered
After a fierce lobbying campaign, people living close to Salt Way Fields in Middleleaze have succeeded in having a planning application for a £60,000
skate park withdrawn from September’s planning committee agenda.

Lydiard Fields again in the balance
The fate of the last field between Grange Park and Lydiard Park will be
considered at a planning appeal hearing on 3 September.
Swindon Council planning committee rejected an application to build on
the site off Hook Street in 2011, and it was later blocked at a planning appeal
in 2012. However the planning inspector gave enough scope for a revised
proposal which could not be seen from the park.
Swindon rejected a second application for 73 houses by Persimmon Homes
in March and the appeal will hear objections from Lydiard Fields Action Group
6 Star Service from and the Friends of Lydiard Park, as well as the developer’s justifications .
