Meeting ratchets up pressure for relief road

Sixty people attended a meeting on 14 April at Peatmoor Primary
School to discuss the campaign to see a link road built between
Thamesdown Drive and Great Western Way. The results of a survey
published in the Link and online were also announced - see opposite.
Organised by Thamesdown Drive Extension Campaign group (TDEX),
in conjunction with Shaw Residents’ Association and Link magazine,
the meeting was also attended by several local and national candidates
standing in the 7 May elections.
Over the last ten years Mead Way has been turned into Swindon’s
western by-pass. A presentation by Kevin Fisher, chair of Shaw Residents’
Association, demonstrated that over the next ten years about 3,000
