Three people were arrested over alleged drug supply after a vehicle was stopped on Marlowe Avenue in Swindon.

This incident happened on Tuesday 6 July.

Swindon Central South Neighbourhood Policing Team undertook a plain clothes operation in the Walcot, Park North and Park South area as part of an ongoing campaign to tackle those intent on causing harm to the community.

During the operation, a Ford Focus was stopped by officers at around 8.45pm. Following a subsequent search, a quantity of drugs and evidence of drug supply were recovered from the vehicle.

The three occupants, two men aged 21 and a woman aged 24, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs and taken to Gablecross Police Station.

They have since been released under investigation.

Sgt Richard Fay, of the Swindon Central South Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Although you may not always see us, the Neighbourhood Policing Team is a constant presence in the community, tackling the issues that are having the most impact on local residents.

“Drugs have a detrimental impact on the local community as well as the associated crimes that come with it like theft, anti-social behaviour and violence.

“I would encourage residents to come and speak to us and let us know of any concerns or problems that you have.

“We can be contacted via 101, the Wiltshire Police website, or anonymously via Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.”
