A Guide to Swindon's CharitiesCharity

Local charity encourages wearing odd socks for Down Syndrome Awareness week 18 to 23 March.

Down's Syndrome Awareness Day is celebrated every year on March 21, with local charity Swindon Down's Syndrome Group using the week around that date, this year 18 to 23 March, to promote fundraising and to challenge society's misconceptions about Down's Syndrome.

The charity are encouraging people to challenge themselves by holding a bake sale or a quiz night in the local community or by encouraging their school to wear odd socks for March 21, all in the name of Down's Syndrome Awareness. The Group aim to end the week of fundraising with a party to celebrate.

The charity have also joined Down Syndrome International's #LotsofSocks campaign which aims to get people talking about Down's Syndrome. Swindon Down's Syndrome Group are selling #LotsofSocks in the run-up to Down's Syndrome Awareness Week in order to raise funds for their charity. The socks come in a range of eye-catching colour-combinations and sizes.

They are also looking for local businesses to help them sell their #LotsofSocks.
