Hall & Woodhouse (H&W) celebrated its 249th anniversary on Monday 8 of June with its annual Founder’s Day celebrations, bringing together team members from across the business to mark the occasion.
Giving back to local communities remained at the heart of the annual celebrations. Team members from H&W’s 55 managed houses took part in the company’s annual litter pick, helping to keep local neighbourhoods clean and tidy.
As part of the tradition, every team member in the managed house estate received a slice of birthday cake and a bottle of the commemorative anniversary beer, named Hannah and George Edward’s Kindness. The beer is named after key figures in H&W’s founding history and is available exclusively to buy in H&W’s Brewery shop in Blandford.
Anthony Woodhouse, Chairman of Hall & Woodhouse, said: “Reaching 249 years is a remarkable milestone for our business and one that reflects the dedication of the generations of team members who have helped shape Hall & Woodhouse over the years.
“I’m incredibly proud that we continue the tradition of giving back to our local communities that support us, in addition to celebrating our heritage. As we look ahead, we’re excited to begin preparations for an even bigger celebration as we approach our 250th anniversary next year.”
Hall & Woodhouse has a collection of c.150 beautiful pubs that make up its managed house and Business Partner estate, stretching from Woolacombe to Teignmouth in Devon, London to Brighton, including Wichelstowe, Swindon.
