The McDonald’s restaurant on Cockleberry Roundabout, owned and operated by McDonald’s franchisee Carl Room, recently welcomed over 100 students from local secondary schools across Swindon.

The students were invited to the restaurant to learn more about the running of the business, and the open day was also attended by the Mayor of Swindon Councillor Junab Ali.

The students were given a full tour of the new digital restaurant and received exclusive insight in to how it operates day to day.  The restaurant’s Business Managers and Supervisors took the students round the restaurant and answered any questions they had.

Carl Room, local McDonald’s franchisee and owner of nine restaurants in the area, including the one on Cockleberry Roundabout, said: “We were pleased to be able to welcome local students to the restaurant. It is really important that we open our doors to the community we operate in and talk to students who are intrigued by our brand and how we operate as a business here in Swindon.’

McDonald’s benefits from employing people at different stages in their working lives, including young people looking for their first taste of work.
