This summer, McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Swindon steams into a Summer of Travel with a host of enjoyable activities for the whole family.
Goodbye Hinton Manor, Welcome Ditcheat Manor
Head down to the centre to say goodbye to Hinton Manor; the beloved stream train will be departing from McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Swindon on the 21st August after 11 years at the centre.
Ahead of the train’s departure, children and adults alike visiting the centre will be invited to draw Hinton Manor and enter their piece of art into a drawing challenge. The grand prize up for grabs is a family ticket to Longleat [for up to 5 people] as well as a £100 Longleat gift card to spend during their trip. Additionally, a winner will be chosen from each of the four age categories to win a Hornby model train and family entry tickets to STEAM. On top of these great prizes, everyone who enters will receive a voucher where kids can visit STEAM, Museum of The Great Western Railway, for just £1.
Built in 1950, Ditcheat Manor, the sister train of Hinton Manor will be heading from STEAM to the centre on the 21st August. Guests can witness its arrival to the centre, plus discover more about the Great Western trains rich heritage. Tina Cumpstey, Centre Manager at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Swindon said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Ditcheat Manor to McArthurGlen Swindon after saying a fond farewell to our much loved steam train, Hinton Manor.
"The centre is well known for its association with the Great Western Railway and the 21st August is set to be a memorable day in our 2018 calendar. I’m looking forward to seeing the delight on our guests’ faces as they visit the new train and participate in the centre’s activities throughout the summer.”
Mini Cotswold Hare Trail
There are more opportunities than ever to keep the little ones entertained over the summer holidays; children can take part in the Mini Cotswold Hare Trail from the 6th August - 2nd September. Head down to McArthurGlen Swindon Outlet and discover eight mini hares dotted around the centre for a chance to win free Family entry to Cotswold Wildlife Park.
Food Festival
It’s a Summer of Travel but there is no need to go abroad to enjoy delicious dishes. On the 1st and 2nd of September satisfy cravings with mouth-watering street food dishes at the centre’s Food Festival. Celebrity chef, Sophie Grigson, will be hosting demonstrations of how to create culinary delights utilising local ingredients and harvest flavours as the season begins to change.
New Openings
On top of all of this, the centre has added to its extensive portfolio of brands with new openings from Dune and Converse between June and September. UGG are also relocating to a bigger and better store to elevate the shopper experience.
