Meadow Park's Year 6 pupils head out on a historic venture into Roman history as part of hands-on curriculum.
To further their understanding of Roman history and culture, Meadowpark School took Year 6 pupils to Cirencester's Corinium Museum last week.
In an effort to engage students with their history lesson outside the classroom, the pupils were able to to explore the exhibits and artefacts on display and participated in various investigative activities including the examination of Roman clothing, tombstones, grave goods and Roman board games.
Cementing links between their classroom studies and Roman culture the museum also provided an interactive learning session.
Class teacher, Miss Liggins, said: “It really opened their eyes to how the Roman’s changed the landscape of Britain in the time they were here. The day was hugely beneficial to their learning."
