A Swindon Rotary club is hoping to get people diving into their pockets as they get set for their annual charity 'Swimathon'.
Swindon North Rotary Club are urging people to get involved in their annual 'Swimathon' in aid of charity. This year the rotary club will distribute all the money raised between a charity of each swimming team's choice and the Swindon-based Youth Adventure Trust.
Taking place at Better Link Centre, Sunday 14 April, participants can enter in teams of up to eight people for the sponsored swim.
An organiser of the event said: "The Swimathon is not a race or a marathon – team members will swim in relays for 55 minutes and every individual will receive a medal and a certificate to verify how many lengths they have completed.
"All people need do is organise themselves in a team of four to eight persons all with a shared aim and willing to collect some sponsorship on themselves.
"The swimmers will be responsible for collecting their sponsorship money and paying it to the Rotary Club. The Rotary Club will then distribute it on a 50/50 basis to the team’s chosen charity and the Youth Adventure Trust."
