Swindon Wildcats are getting ready for two of the biggest games of the season. The South Cup Semi-Finals are here, and the Wildcats are expecting a huge crowd at the Link Centre at 6.15pm on Saturday when they take on the Basingstoke Bison for a place in the final.

Many will remember the two-legged Autumn Cup Final from last season where the Wildcats took on the Bison to secure their first trophy in over twenty years. A 3-1 win in Basingstoke was backed up with a triumphant performance at the Link Centre where goals from Sam Bullas, Phil Hill, Edgars Bebris and Aaron Nell ensured the trophy would be staying in Wiltshire.

This season is a new look Bison side, with British legends Ashley Tait and Russ Cowley lining up for the Hampshire outfit alongside talented imports like Richard Bordowski and Michal Klejna to help boost them too.

The Wildcats have won their last eight games on the bounce and go into the clash on a rich run of form. After wins against Peterborough and London last weekend they currently sit at the top of the league table as the race for the title becomes ever closer.

Speaking ahead of the contest next weekend Head Coach Aaron Nell said “The cups are big for us, it’s going to be a great weekend. Basingstoke are flying right now, just like we are, but we know we have to play like we did last weekend to try and make it through. We need the crowd to be as vocal as they were last week, they were phenomenal and it really does make a lot of difference”.
