Swindon Town’s Matt Taylor has been signed up as an ambassador for Ubisoft Entertainment to promote their forthcoming video game - Tom Clancy’s The Division 2
The games giant has shunned Premier League and International footballers to sign six EFL League Two footballers as ambassadors for the blockbuster franchise.
Matt Taylor (Swindon Town), Kieran O’Hara (Macclesfield Town), Callum Brittain (MK Dons), George Ray (Crewe Alexandra), Omar Sowunmi (Yeovil Town) and Robbie Simpson (MK Dons) have all been signed up from league two to join the ever-growing and diverse community of Division players ahead of the game’s Private Beta launch this weekend.
Ubisoft PR manager Adam Merrett said: “We’re thrilled to have signed up the very best players in their own division as ambassadors for the release of Tom Clancy’s The Division 2. Our new recruits will join an ever-growing and diverse community of Division players as we launch our much-anticipated Private Beta for The Division 2 over the coming days.”
The EFL League 2 division players celebrated their signing with a photoshoot featuring custom football shirts, before loading up the game for the first time. Each will be encouraging teammates to login during the Private Beta period, which begins today (February 7th) and lasts until Monday (February 11th).
Ex-Premier League legend and current midfielder for Swindon Town, Matt Taylor, said: “Each division is different, but the one thing that remains is true passion for the game. It’s great to see Ubisoft recognise that by signing us up for The Division 2. We’re thrilled to be joining the Private Beta, playing to launch and beyond. I look forward to seeing Division 2 fans in the Dark Zone!”
Xbox One, PS4, and PC players can secure their access to the Private Beta by pre-ordering Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 at participating retailers, and players can still register for Beta access now for a chance to play at http://thedivisiongame.com/beta. Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 releases worldwide on March 15th, 2019, on the Xbox One family of devices including the Xbox One X, PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and Windows PC.?
