Police are appealing for information as part of an investigation into an incident of theft and fraud in Swindon.

At approximately 4.30pm on March 27, a 71-year-old woman was in the car park of Morrisons, Dorcan Way, when she was approached by a man who was wearing a hi-viz jacket and appeared distressed.

He asked the woman for directions to the hospital so he could visit his mum.

Unbeknown to the victim, he managed to get hold of her card holder as she attempted to help with giving him the directions he asked for.

He then made off from the area and used the card to withdraw £1,000 from a bank in Regent Street. He was accompanied by an older man when withdrawing the money.

Police would like to speak to the two men captured on CCTV in connection with the incident.

Anyone with information should call 101 and quote crime reference number 54190031606.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
