Swindon & Wiltshire Pride will be returning to the Town Gardens this Summer with Nationwide as the main sponsor.

As the countdown continues, the organisers have championed the army of volunteers that have been crucial to the come back during this year’s Volunteers’ Week, which runs from 1-7 June.

From supporting the regular fundraisers and donating equipment, to setting up the festival and manning the bar, there is no shortage of roles to fill.

Chairman Kristian Wheeler said, “Volunteers Week is a chance for us to celebrate each and every one of our volunteers, and say thank you for all the time and dedication that goes in year-round to ensure that we can deliver the biggest, most vibrant LGBT+ festival for the community of Swindon & Wiltshire. We are incredibly proud of our volunteers, and they really are one big family - without the work of the friends of Pride, it simply wouldn’t be possible for us to carry on.”

For many charities, the week will be a chance to encourage people to try volunteering for the first time and help people find out how they can make a real difference to their community.

Volunteer Manager Jim Stephen said: “As well as individuals, we’ve had clubs and groups from the local area offer their help, we have people volunteering along with their friends and family. By giving their time, volunteers make a big difference and at the same time help to make the local community a better place“.

Swindon & Wiltshire Pride are still looking for volunteers for a wide range of roles.
