Police are appealing for witnesses after reports of an assault in a Swindon street.

On Friday 7 June 2019, at around 3.20pm, officers were called to Chestnut Avenue, Pinehurst following reports that a man had been assaulting a woman in the street.

The woman, at the time, was also seen to get into and then out of a silver Vauxhall Astra.

PC Lewis Thorne said: "We'd like to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in this area at this time. It was in broad daylight so someone must have seen or heard something.
"Also, if you have any dash-cam footage please come forward as that would help our enquiries too."

Anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting crime reference 54190054809.

A 37-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of Actual Bodily Harm and released under investigation.
