Great British Bake Off winner, Candice Brown, is launching a new 'Par-tea' at the Village Hotel Club this weekend.

Village Hotel Club Swindon is launching a brand-new afternoon tea menu this Saturday, 29 June.

Curated by Great British Bake Off winner and Village Hotel Club ambassador Candice Brown, the Afternoon Par-Tea menu includes a selection of savoury and sweet treats, and is available every Saturday through the summer between 2pm and 5pm.

Beginning with savoury treats, the menu features mini brioches filled with creamy egg mayonnaise and spinach, a roasted sweet potato, chorizo and red pepper tart and prawn Marie rose with avocado served on crackers.

Swindon locals will then be treated to a selection of ‘show-stopper’ desserts, highlighting Candice’s winning creativity and flair in the kitchen. These include a mini cornflake tart with lemon curd, chocolate and orange scones with jam and cream and rhubarb and custard profiteroles.

Andrew Spink, General Manager of Village Hotel Club Swindon, said, “Our new Afternoon Par-tea menu is perfect for couples and groups to enjoy a leisurely Saturday afternoon.

"My personal favourite is probably the chocolate and orange scones, but it is a tough choice! I’m excited to see what our guests think.”

Earlier this year Candice was announced as Village Hotel Club’s Food & Drink Ambassador as part of the hotel group’s Village Green initiative, which was designed to give back to local communities. As well as creating the new afternoon tea menu, Candice is working with Village Hotel Club on its ‘Hospitality Heroes’ mentoring scheme, which sees each Village Hotel offer skills and mentoring for local college students studying catering and hospitality.

To kick off its launch, Village Hotel Club are offering one pair of lucky locals the chance to try the new menu at its launch this Saturday. For more details on how to enter the competition, visit Village Hotel Club Swindon’s Facebook page.

The Afternoon Par-Tea menu costs £17.50pp and is served with tea and coffee. Those that want to make it a real ‘par-tea’ can upgrade to a G&T, pornstar martini or Aperol spritz for £25pp, or enjoy a half bottle of prosecco for £30pp. It is available to book online now www.village-hotels.co.uk/candice-afternoon-tea/
