Horizons College pupil Tyler Ody, 19, of Haydon Wick, describes his trip to the first ever pumpkin patch at Lotmead Farm
I went to Lotmead Farm yesterday with Shirley Ludford of Swindon 105.5 to do a feature on Lotmead's first year on their pumpkin patch.
It was such a great experience for me as i had never been to a pumpkin farm before. The pumpkins were a beautiful hazy orange and the prices ranged from £1 to £5.
They come in all different shapes and sizes and they had 15,000 pumpkins on their first day.
150 parents and families visited Lotmead's pumpkin patch on the first day and 700 pumpkins are due to be sold by Saturday.
People are buying pumpkins to be carved for halloween or to make recipes with them.
The pumpkins came from a pumpkin farm in Salisbury as Lotmead don't have the right soil.
I had a fabulous time at Lotmead's pumpkin patch it is somewhere you should take the kids for halloween.
Lotmead's address is Wanborough SN4 0SN or you can call them on 01793 790137 and their website is www.lotmead.co.uk
