Work has now begun at McCarthy and Stone’s latest Retirement Living Plus development on Lowry Way in Swindon.

The Mayor of Swindon joined McCarthy and Stone’s Marketing Executive Verity McKay, Senior Site Manager Paul Marshall and Sales Consultant Liz Griffin to take a closer look at development plans and mark the start of construction.

The new development will comprise a mix of one and two-bed apartments exclusively designed for the over 70s. Apartments will be available to reserve off plan in summer 2020, with first occupations expected in early 2021.

Councillor Kevin Parry said: “It was a pleasure to visit the site of McCarthy and Stone’s new development in Swindon to mark the start of construction.

"It was a good opportunity to meet the site manager and hear first-hand about the housebuilder’s latest Retirement Living Plus development which will help to meet the housing needs of retirees in Swindon and the surrounding areas.”

Once complete, the development will feature a Club Lounge, ideal for socialising; a Guest Suite for when homeowners have visitors to stay; and maintained gardens.  An Estates Manager will take care of the day-to-day running of the development, while secure entry systems and 24-hour emergency call points will provide added peace-of-mind.

Geoff Bates, Head of Marketing at McCarthy and Stone South, said: “We are delighted Councillor Kevin Parry was able to take the time to visit our Swindon site.

“McCarthy and Stone is committed to designing flexible homes which allow people to make the most of their retirement years, so it was great to be able to showcase the plans for some of the high quality apartments that will eventually be available at this new development in Swindon.”

Retirees who are interested in finding out more about the new Retirement Living Plus development are invited to an exclusive Discovery Day at the Swindon Marriott Hotel on Friday 29 November, with three drop in sessions available at 10.30am, 12pm and 1.30pm. Those who attend will be able to take a look at plans, apartment specifications and guide pricing for the forthcoming development.

Those interested in Retirement Living Plus at McCarthy and Stone’s forthcoming Swindon development are invited to call 0800 310 0383 to book a place at the Discovery Day, or visit www.mccarthyandstone.co.uk.
