Swindon’s Bus Company joined the cast of Sleeping Beauty at the Wyvern Theatre recently - to celebrate its support for this year’s panto.
The operator is the official travel partner for the show, and is encouraging theatregoers to leave their cars at home and make their way to see Sleeping Beauty by bus instead.
“We are excited to be joining in the fun,” said Swindon’s Bus Company’s Alex Makwana. “Prince Charming really has a challenge on his hands, if he is to successfully wake Sleeping Beauty and save the day - and theatregoers can watch all the action without worrying about parking or how they’re going to get home.
“And it’s a cleaner, greener, way to get to the show - with many of our buses now running the latest low emissions Euro 6 engines.”
“The festive season is a great time for partying and enjoying ourselves - and we’re offering people the opportunity to sit back, relax and take in the show. Our bus drivers are standing by to do all the work.”
Swindon Bus Station and the main bus stops on Fleming Way are a short walk through the town centre to the theatre - which is situated at the top of the town. Certain routes also call at the nearest bus stop to the Wyvern Theatre on Princes Street, at either the Civic Offices or Regent Circus,
“As official partners of the show, we’re also offering chances on social media for Swindon’s Bus Company customers to win tickets for the panto,” added Alex.
Wyvern Theatre’s Catherine Goss said: “A trip to the Wyvern’s pantomime has become an important part of Christmas celebrations for families and groups of all ages, with many performances selling out. We’re delighted to be partnering with Swindon’s Bus Company on Sleeping Beauty.”
Sleeping Beauty runs until Sunday 5 January 2020.
