The village of Aldbourne will be hosting a 5k Fun Run at 10am £on Sunday 10 June.

The run is being organised in aid of St Michael’s School to raise needed funds for an all weather running track that will be used by the school and community.

The track will mean that the pupils’ daily mile run, that each child does already, will be improved in wet weather and local running groups will have the potential to be able to train there all year round.

Last year the fun run raised a profit of £3,400.

357 participants entered the race, many were “virtual entries” who ran their 5k abroad (as far afield as Greece and France) or earlier than the race itself for those who couldn’t make it on the day.

There will be tea, coffee and cold drinks, a barbecue, cake stall and ice-cream van. The run is open to everybody including mothers with pushchairs and dog walkers.

Please go to the website www.aldbourne5kfunrun.co.uk or email [email protected]. The race costs £10 per person, £5 per child and £25 for a family ticket.
