Wiltshire police are appealing for witnesses to a violent disorder which happened in Highworth.

Between 10pm and 10.30pm on January 4, a large group of youths were involved in a disorder at Highworth Junior Football Club. A second incident then occurred in Swindon Street shortly after.

During the disorder, damage was caused to two vehicles.

A 16-year-old boy from Swindon has been arrested and interviewed in relation to the criminal damage and has since been released under investigation while our enquiries continue.

Local crime investigator Emma Patmore said: “We understand there was a large group of youths between the ages of 14 and 17 present during the disorder, who were from both Highworth and Swindon. Not all of them were involved in the disorder but they will have information regarding the incident and we would be very keen to speak to them.

“I’d appeal to any of those who were present, as well as any parents who know their children were in the area at the time, to contact police on 101 and quote crime reference number 54200001141.”

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
