The Roughmoor Centre at Washpool, Shaw, was once a rural retreat
for deafpeople. Soon it will be surrounded by houses as West Swindon
moves northwards. Here, Terry Waters, Director of the Centre, des-
cribes the work of this nationally recognised facility for the deaf.
