The Mayor's Appeal at Christmas 3
From The Mayor of Thamesdown, Councillor Derek Montaut
As Christmas approaches it is my pleasure to follow the practice of my 5_6
predecessors and appeal for help for the more needy members of our
community and it is my intention to devote the proceeds of the Appeal Ooar,
to the Mayor of Thamesd own's Helping Hand Fund.
The Fund assists individuals and families 'in need' and 'in crisis' Coair,
with what most people regard as the very basic necessities of life, i.e.
beds, bedding, furniture, white goods and clothing. There are no Personal Introductions

also given in exceptional circumstances. single, separated,
All the people helped are in genuine need and suffering severe social divorced or widowed
and financial problems. Unfortunately, people in Thamesdown are people who want to
suffering more crisis problems than ever this year - the Fund has
needed to help twice the number it did last year. make a new start.
I am aware that there are many calls on your generosity from a host
of worthy causes. But it is said that "charity begins at home" and I hope © Swindon 487761
