Outstanding sporting achievement at Greendown is recognised
with a shield awarded to the best all-round sporting effort and
achievement by a boy and a girl in each year group.
A special award for outstanding performance went to David
Harvey, then in year 9, who was second in the Wiltshire 1500 metres
and third in the South West of England 1500 metres.
Emma Kingston also received a special award for her hockey
achievements (see story overleaf).
Greendown was able to look back on a good all-round year, with
good performances by teams in nine different sports. The under 15
cricket team did well to reach the final of the Wootton Basset cup,
which they lost to Commonweal.
