NEED WHAT YOU THINK OF US
MORE
We published a survey in the March 1996 edition inviting you to tell us what you think of The Link. The
ROOM? replies are very helpful and we're happy to see that the magazine is very highly regarded by readers who
look to it for local information. 90% of readers find The Link definitely welcome. Although the majority
THINKING OF of readers believe its coverage is definitely comprehensive, we could do better. And we should also try
harder to increase its usefulness and improve the way it is organised.
EXTENDING'
We received quite a few letters with helpful comments. Of particular note were calls from retired
people wanting more information on activities for elderly people. This is something we are already
working on and hope older readers have started to notice an increase in articles relevant to them.
We're particularly pleased by how high readers rate The Link. 91% rate us between 6 and 10 on a I
to 10 scale, where 10 is the highest, compared with the Evening Advertiser (66%), The Star (52%) and
The Messenger (35%). Even better, 49% rate us at 9 or 10, compared with the Evening Advertiser
(26%), The Star (9%) and The Messenger (7%).
The introduction of colour in the last edition has been well received. Our aim is to make The Link an even
better read and more relevant to reinforce our position as Swindon's most closely read publication.
