opened on 14 June by the Mayor of Swindon coun Arthur Archer, a
former railway fireman, accompanied by one hundred year old Leonard
Kimber, a'saw doctor inside the works from 1923 and two young poets,
Megan Gibson from Shaw and Edmund Baker from Bishopstone.
Swindon's own Queen Victoria, Mary Ratcliffe and the great engineer
Brunel were also in attendance. More on page 21.
