                                                                                         When Dennis Green popped the
                                                                                         question  to  his  partner  Lynda,
                                                                                         she was over the moon, not least
                                                                                         because she knew they would be
                                                                                         able to have the wedding of their
                                                                                         dreams  by  saving  up  with  their
                                                                                         local credit union.




















                                                                                          Lynda  and  Dennis  went  on  a
                                                                                         regular basis to the credit union col-
                                                                                         lection at Clivey Parade and saved
                                                                                         bit by bit for their big day.
                                                                                          “We knew the money would be
                                                                                         safe,  and  whenever  we  went  in
                                                                                         to make a deposit the volunteers
                                                                                         wanted to know how the wedding
                                                                                         plans  were  going,”  said  Lynda.
                                                                                         “They were all so friendly and ex-
                                                                                         cited for us, in the end we invited
                                                                                         them all to come along on the day.”
                                                                                          The  couple,  who live in  David
                                                                                         Murray  John  building,  saved  for
                                                                                         over two years before withdraw ing
                                                                                         enough to cover the costs of their
                                                                                         wedding and honeymoon.
                                                                                          But it didn’t stop there. Now they
                                                                                         are saving up for their next holiday.
                                                                                          Anyone  living  or  working  in
                                                                                         Swindon  can  join.  Two  forms  of
                                                                                         ID - a passport or driving licence
                                                                                         -  and  a  recent  household  bill  are
                                                                                         needed to join.
