Shaw litter pickers gather
Shaw Residents’ Association is holding a litter pick on Saturday 13 April, 10am.
Volunteers taking part are asked to meet at Shaw Village Centre. Litter picking
sticks and black bags will be provided.
SRA chair Kevin Fisher is calling on people wherever they live to consider
removing litter around their homes. He said: “Rightly or wrongly, the amount
of our council tax money spent on litter clearance has been reduced along
with other services.
“Sadly we will never be able to stop people dropping litter, but if everyone
simply cleared an area within 100 metres of their front door, neighbourhoods
would look so much better. Please think about helping in this way, if you are
not doing so already.”
