Before the Link Centre arrived...                                        2015 MARKS 30 years since the vision of
                                                                                 Thamesdown Council to create a huge new
                                                                                 leisure centre in West Swindon came to
                                                                                 fruition.
                                                                                  We’ve delved into the archives to show the
                                                                                 farmer’s fields before they were consumed
                                                                                 by Link Centre and Shaw Ridge Leisure Park.
                                                                                  On the left is the West Swindon District

                                                                                 opened.

                                                                                primary school visible.
