Two people were arrested in Swindon last night during an operation to target drink drivers.
A total of 15 vehicles were stopped during the overnight operation which took place at various locations around the town.
Twelve breath tests were conducted and two drivers were arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
One of these drivers, a 17-year-old local man, was also arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply. He is currently in custody in Gablecross.
The other man arrested has since been released with no further action but was given strong words of advice.
Acting Sgt James Rodrigues, who led the operation, said: “During this operation, several drivers that were stopped were under the influence of alcohol, but remained under the legal limit when required to carry out a breath test, and were therefore given strong words of advice.
“I’d like to remind drivers of the dangers of drink driving and to stress that the safest option is to not drink at all – there are no shortcuts for sobering up.”
