A brand new hedgehog hut will be soon be available at a local wildlife centre thanks to the fundraising efforts of the team behind The Brunel shopping centre.
A cheque for £1465.15 was recently handed over to Cricklade’s Oak & Furrows Wildlife Rescue Centre. The money was raised by staff at The Brunel from various fundraising activities throughout the year which included the sale of upcycled furniture, a curry night, and proceeds from selling space at craft fairs.
Oak & Furrows’ CEO, Charles Pope, said: “We are really grateful to everyone at The Brunel for selecting us as their charity of the year and raising this money for us. It will be going towards the fitting out of a brand new hedgehog hut where injured hedgehogs as well as baby hoglets can be looked after and rehabilitated safely.“
Each year staff at The Brunel select one charity as their staff Charity of the Year in order to focus their fundraising efforts. Next year’s chosen charity is Swindon Down’s Syndrome Group.
