Bursts of celebration as Holi – the Hindu festival of colours is brought to Swindon for the first time

Holi - the Hindu Festival of Colours created a riot of colour and celebration at the Hindu Temple and Cultural Centre in Swindon on Sunday (12 March).

The first festival of its type to be held in the town, the event was a huge success, with colour and fun becoming the order of the day.

The cheerful event was organised by the team at the Hindu Temple and Community Centre to promote and foster equality and tolerance, as well as to bring people and communities together. Amidst Bollywood music and Dhol (Indian drums), the large gathering of people celebrated by greeting each other using both dry colours and water colours.
