The team from Amazon’s fulfilment centre in Swindon has made a £1,000 donation to Voluntary Action Swindon.

Voluntary Action Swindon is the Council for Voluntary Service in Swindon.

The local charity supports other charities and coordinates voluntary activity across the town, offering assistance, including advice on fundraising and governance, printing services, and room or equipment hire.

The donation from Amazon in Swindon went towards hosting a recent conference.

Speaking on the donation, David Tindal, General Manager at Amazon in Swindon, said: “Voluntary Action Swindon provides great support and resources to other wonderful charities in the area. We’re pleased to lend the staff and volunteers at the charity a helping hand with this donation to continue the great work.”

Dumitru Ciobanu, an employee from Amazon in Swindon who nominated the charity for support, said: “Thanks to everyone at Amazon in Swindon for supporting Voluntary Action Swindon. The team will put this donation to great use boosting other charities in the area.”

Jol Rose, from Voluntary Action Swindon, added: “We would like to thank David and the team at Amazon in Swindon for this donation. At Voluntary Action Swindon we support a range of charities in the community and donations like this one helped us host a conference in the voluntary sector.

"The conference was about Connecting, Collaborating and Integration and was a great opportunity to share ideas and update the sector on the Integrated Care System.”

The donation to Voluntary Action Swindon was made as part of Amazon’s programme to support the communities in and around its operating locations across the UK.

Amazon is providing disadvantaged students with online STEM courses as well as teaming up with charity partner Magic Breakfast and delivering more than six million healthy breakfasts to families in England.
