Workers at Swindon's Amazon fulfilment centre in Swindon welcomed friends and families for a behind-the-scenes tour.
Guests received an insight into the various job roles throughout the fulfilment centre, and saw how Amazon stores, and processes products and ships orders.
Each child who attended received a goodie bag including a miniature Amazon truck.
David Tindal, General Manager at Amazon in Swindon, said: “It was a pleasure welcoming our friends and family to our site for a tour.
"We hope they enjoyed their behind-the-scenes look around Amazon and learned about what their loved ones get up to on a daily basis at work.”
Baba Jarra, who works at the centre as an area manager, said: “I had a brilliant time showing my family and friends where I work, and I loved meeting my colleagues’ families and friends. Thanks to David and the Amazon team for making this day possible.”
Alby Saitch-Smith, whose dad works at Amazon in Swindon, said: “It was so cool seeing where my dad works. I can’t wait to tell my friends at school about it and show them my goodie bag!”
Community donations and employee volunteering are two of the ways in which Amazon supports the communities in and around its operating locations across the UK.
Amazon provides students, teachers and parents with free computer science and STEM education programmes through Amazon Future Engineer and has teamed up with charity partner Magic Breakfast to deliver more than 7m healthy breakfasts to children at risk of hunger in disadvantaged areas of the country.
Earlier this year, Amazon partnered with Comic Relief to become the official home of the Red Nose. Employees across the UK hosted fundraising activities and, together with customers and partners, raised £2.7m to support those going through the toughest times of their lives.
