Asset Guardian Wills Ltd are stressing the importance of making and having a will in place, to members of the public.

According to experts, over 60% of the population in England and Wales do not have a will in place.

Asset Guardian Wills Ltd believe this is quite a scary statistic - that all those people have not told their loved ones what their wishes are once the inevitable comes.

When making a will, the business say there are several things to think about - who you want to benefit from your will, who would look after your children if under 18, who is going to sort out your estate and carry out your wishes after your death, however these are just the basics.

The company are asking the following questions - what do you do if you share a property with someone who isn’t your husband, wife, or civil partner? What do you do if you want to leave money or property to a dependant who can’t care for themselves?

For some families Asset Guardians say it is not as straight-forward; for example having children from previous marriages without a will in place could mean your children could miss out on their inheritance.

Asset Guardian is a locally-based family firm of will writers and estate planners with over 27 years of experience. The majority of its appointments are conducted in the comfort of the client's own home at a time that is convenient for them.

The business are members of the ‘Society of Will Writers’ - a governing body for the profession.

Asset Guardian Wills Ltd also offer other services, including Preparing and Registering Lasting Power of Attorney documents and probate services.
