Builder sponsors village show climbing wall

Bellway South West has helped to support Wanborough Village and Country Show for the second year running.

The housebuilder’s £500 donation helped to fund a children’s climbing wall at the event.

Bellway is building 81 new homes in the first phase of its Redlands Grove development on the former Redlands Airfield site to the north of Wanborough and east of Swindon.

This year’s village show featured a variety of attractions including a flower and produce show, a funfair, a dog show, a vehicle display and a children’s show. 

Kath Liston, the show’s sponsorship and advertising officer, said: “Following last year’s successful show and Bellway’s generous contribution towards it, I thought I’d ask them again to see whether they would sponsor our show for a second year. 

“I was delighted when I heard back from them so soon after I reached out and their donation allowed us to fund a climbing wall again to entertain the children on the day.

“We are a not-for-profit organisation which aims to deliver a fantastic show every year for people in the village, and we ensure that all the revenue we receive is reinvested into organising the show again or distributed to local charities and initiatives in the area.

“On behalf of the show organisers, I want to thank Bellway for providing sponsorship. All their help, along with the volunteers and support from other local businesses, made this day run smoothly and visitors enjoyed a great day out with their families and friends.”
