This February, the first homes at a new Bellway South West development near Swindon are to be released for sale.
The Redlands Grove scheme is being built by Bellway South West on the former Redlands Airfield to the east of the town off Wanborough Road.
It is part of a wider development of 370 new homes on a 46-acre site which has outline planning permission in place.
Bellway’s first phase of development - which was granted detailed planning permission last year - will create 81 new homes, including 65 two, three, and four-bedroom houses for private sale. There is said to also be 16 affordable homes for rent or shared ownership.
Plans for Bellway’s second phase - which would deliver a further 100 homes - including a further 16 affordable properties, are currently said to be pending consideration by Swindon Borough Council.
The first homes at Redlands Grove will be released for sale in February from Bellway’s nearby Ridgeway Park development in Wroughton.
Sales Manager for Bellway South West, Rachel Way, said: “We are getting ready for the launch of the new homes at Redlands Grove and are looking forward to telling customers all about the exciting new neighbourhood we are building here.
“We expect Redlands Grove to be extremely popular because of the quality and style of the homes and the layout of the overall scheme as well as the desirable location.
“The development is only a 15-minute drive from Swindon town centre and around 10 minutes from the M4, so it’s perfect for getting to all the local shops, services and entertainment venues within easy reach as well as travelling further afield for work or leisure.
“Redlands Grove is an important development for the area as it is providing much-needed housing, while the wider project is boosting local services with payments totalling more than £5 million through developer contributions.”
As part of the wider project, which is taking shape in conjunction with Vistry Group, Bellway say contributions totalling more than £5.3 million will be paid towards local services and infrastructure.
The money, which is outlined as part of the planning agreement for the site, will be paid by both developers.
This will include more than £1 million for secondary education and more than £2 million towards primary education.
Sports facilities will get more than £820,000, whilst healthcare will receive more than £200,000 and £277,500 will go towards bus service contributions.
The Bellway scheme will be a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes built in house styles from the homebuilder’s Artisan Collection. This collection is a range that was developed through feedback from customers and uses the latest construction techniques.
