Bevirs Law, which has offices in Swindon, Royal Wootton Bassett and Calne, has taken on the team from Worthingtons Family Law.

The long-standing Wiltshire legal firm has merged with rival business Worthingtons Family Law, to strengthen its own family law team.

Natalee Worthington, who founded the West Swindon-based business in 2019, has joined Bevirs Law as a partner and its Head of Family. Also joining is PA, Annette Janman.

The merger marks a new era for Bevirs Law, which was established in 1885 and is a multi-disciplined practice with services for individuals and businesses, employing more than 40 people.

As the new Head of Family, Natalee takes over the reins of the department from Head of Litigation Stuart McNeil, who is planning to retire next spring.

Stuart said: “Natalee is a very experienced and well-respected family lawyer and her practical, client-focused approach will enhance the existing team here at Bevirs Law. Her knowledge of running her own practice means that she was an ideal choice for the role of Head of Family, which will go from strength to strength in the years to come under her leadership.”

Natalee said the merger was an excellent move for her clients, who have transferred across with her.

She added: “Bevirs Law is a very well-known firm, which has been around for a long time and has an excellent reputation. I know Stuart well, as he has been on the opposing side in a number of cases.”

“I had been planning to grow my business and take on other lawyers, as I have a full case load, but when I was approached the merger was a great solution.

“By joining Bevirs Law, my clients are still all with me, but now they have access to all the other services the firm offers. People who are divorcing often need other legal help, such as their wills being renewed or instructing a conveyancer to transfer a property from joint names to their sole name or to sell a property. When I was working on my own, I would have to refer clients externally but now we can keep this inhouse.”

Natalee, who grew up in Royal Wootton Bassett, began her career as a trainee solicitor at a local firm in 2009, qualifying in 2011.

She specialised in family law, and was based with firms in the Swindon, Royal Wootton Bassett and Cirencester area, before setting up Worthingtons Family Law. As Head of Family at Bevirs Law, she plans to grow the team.
