The shoe business carried out home visits for customers who could not reach them during lockdown.

Established in 1920 and trading through four generations Blaylocks is Swindon’s only family run shoe shop and one of the leading independent shoe businesses in the south of England.

During the pandemic, Blaylocks offered a home visit service so customers could still browse and purchase different shoe designs safely. This enabled the shoe shop to assist their clientele, while offering a more personal touch to their sale.

David Blaylock says: “Our success has been in offering personal service coupled with a stock selection which cannot be matched by the average High Street store. We carry a core stock to which seasonal additions are added and currently we have a range of back-to-school shoe in.”

Originally established as a shoe repair business in Gorse Hill, Blaylocks relocated to Old Town in 1928 where the business has developed to its present-day success, built upon a foundation of personal service with long established staff, where the aim is, “To sell shoes that don’t come back to customers who do.”

The shoe company prides itself upon carrying a wide range of brands not found in usual High Street multiples, which helps them to cater for all the family and for every occasion. It carries everything from men’s and women’s footwear to children’s school shoes, to accessories and slippers.
