A luxury Wiltshire golf course tees up a new Golf Operations and Retail Manager to head up all commercial golf activities and daily management responsibilities.

Bowood Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort has welcomed David Stone to the sales and service role with the responsibility of buying and managing stock and leading on consumer promotions to promote sell through.

David brings more than 17 years of experience working in the golfing industry, having previously worked for the Tony Valentine Golf Centre, Saltford Golf Club, TaylorMade Golf Company, and Honma Golf Co. Ltd.

Most recently, David worked on a self-employed basis as a sales agent for leading brands such as Bushnell Golf and Castore, whilst also offering sales and service training to small and medium sized businesses.

He said of his new appointment: “I'm thrilled about my new role and eager to contribute to driving the game forward at Bowood, while meeting the changing preferences of the modern golfer. My goal is to create an exceptional and memorable experience both on and off the course, elevating every golfer's journey while producing a thriving retail business.”

With an exceptional track record of sales profits and customer relationships, David says he is poised to elevate the golfing experience at Bowood to new heights.

One of his key aims is to achieve the ‘59Club Service Excellence Award’, which recognises the UK and Europe’s leading golfing venues, teams and individuals who have provided the finest customer service and highest standards of excellence across the year.

David added: “I’m keen to uphold the reputation and standard that Bowood has built up over the years. I’m lucky to be joining a very talented team of golf professionals with a large community of members, and I know together we can build a strong environment and continue to grow.”

Bowood’s golf experience is said to be accelerated through its Performance Studio and state-of-the-art technology.

A spokesperson from Bowood Hotel said: "In an immersive environment that welcomes any level of golfer, the studio technology can help them to add extra yards to their drive, hit more fairways, develop their putting technique, or provide them with the opportunity to play a round on some of the world’s most renowned courses."

The official PGA Golf Course for the South West is part of the luxury Bowood Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort, which is nestled within the 2,000-acre Bowood Estate. Alongside its golf offering, Bowood’s amenities include its two AA Rosette Shelburne Restaurant, its luxurious The Spa at Bowood, and its principal hotel accommodation.
