The firm is also on the lookout for new Senior Consultants to deal with expected changes to planning regulations.

Former associate director Matt Davies has become a director of Engain.

With years of experience advising on biodiversity and Brexit plus a number of international ecology projects under his belt, Matt has the skills needed to help guide Engain through what is set to be a particularly busy time for them.

Matt said: “We’re expecting lots of new and updated legislation and regulations to come into effect in the UK throughout 2021 and beyond, so it’s great to become a Director at this pivotal time.”

The Bath firm specializes in projects involving the environment, ecology and climate change, topics high on the agenda and requiring a high level of specialist knowledge.

Projects the company have worked on include the development of a luxury hotel on Drake’s Island in Plymouth Sound, the Gibraltar cable car upgrade and a biogas energy plant in Wiltshire.

Nikki Wood, Managing Director of Engain, said: “Matt has been a key part of the team for six years now, and inviting him to become a director seemed a natural step.

"His pragmatic nature alongside his skills in maintaining the technical and commercial quality of our services will be essential for us as there is more demand for our services.”

As a result of this increase in demand, Engain is looking to recruit two senior consultant ecologists to make sure the business continues to grow and can accommodate the ever-increasing demand for their services.

The new appointees will need to be happy working on a wide range of projects, but all with Engain’s practical, friendly and knowledgeable approach.

I is likely that the business will be looking to take on even more environmental experts soon.

The managing director added: “With a new Director, two new senior consultant ecologists on the way and a raft of changes to planning regulations and legislation, 2021 has the potential to be the busiest year in Engain’s history.”

Anyone with questions around the environmental and ecological impact of their development can contact Engain at [email protected] or call on 01225 459564
