McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Swindon partners with Curated Makers to support independent local makers and artists with pop-up
The retail centre has joined forces with Curated Makers, an innovative retailer that gives small businesses big opportunities on the high street, to host a pop-up showcasing items created by independent local makers and artists from Wiltshire and surrounding counties.
The pop-up, set to open on 22 July 22, will focus on celebrating and supporting more than 40 local independent artists and makers in Wiltshire, as well as other surrounding counties.
With a confirmed line-up of small businesses from Bristol, Bath, and Swindon providing products ranging from jewellery to stationery and home décor, the pop-up aims to encourage Centre guests to support local entrepreneurs over mass-produced goods. Not only would this be a more sustainable option by cutting back on emissions, with goods being sourced locally, but the store itself is also built using wood and eco-friendly materials by Curated Makers co-founder, Tom Clarke.
Further challenging the one-size-fits-all approach of mainstream retail outlets, the Curated Makers pop-up at Swindon Designer Outlet will introduce a unique and sustainable product offering, produced locally in small batches by small businesses, all of whom have strong brand values including zero waste, recycled materials and made-to-last.
