Dobbies Swindon to host Platinum Jubilee afternoon tea next month

Dobbies Swindon will be offering shoppers a special afternoon tea during the Platinum Jubilee weekend.

Shoppers will be able to enjoy a royal treat in celebration of 70 years of the Queen on the throne this June at the Dobbies Swindon store.

The afternoon tea will be available from Friday 3 June - Sunday 5 June.

The tea will include a selection of freshly made sandwiches, savoury treats and a traditional cream scone.

Customers will also have the choice of a pot of tea or coffee. A vegan option will also be available during the event, offering vegan savouries, a selection of cakes and a vegan twist on Dobbies’ famous scones.

Staff say children are welcome to come along to the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, with the choice of their very own afternoon tea, with sandwiches, healthy snacks and treats, plus a fruit juice. They can also decorate their own crown.

Guests can upgrade their Platinum Jubilee Afternoon Tea with a mini bottle of Prosecco, which staff say is perfect for making a toast to the longest reigning monarch in British history.

Everyone who attends the event in the Swindon store will also be given the opportunity to win a Dobbies’ giftcard worth £100. Guests are invited to share a photo of themselves on Facebook or Instagram enjoying their Platinum Jubilee Afternoon Tea with #DobbiesJubileeCrowns.

Dobbies’ Partnership and Events Manager, Sarah Murray, said: “We are delighted to be hosting this fantastic afternoon tea experience at Dobbies Swindon to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee. It’s the perfect spread to enjoy with friends and family, and a great event to add into the bank holiday weekend.

The Platinum Jubilee Afternoon Tea will be available in 66 Dobbies stores from 3-5 June. Prices for the adults start from £13.50 per person, and the children’s afternoon tea can be enjoyed for £7.50.
