Venue finding and event management agency Venues and Events International says it has launched its employee development programme, known as Emerging Talent, for 2023.
First launched in October 2020, the Swindon business' annual Emerging Talent programme takes up to six employees through a dedicated training, education, and mentoring programme covering every area of running the business.
The talent programme is desribed as being aimed at boosting individuals' future career paths through the event and venue-finding industry, by instilling cross-departmental skills, knowledge, and motivation.
Kira Clinton has recently been promoted to Event Manager following the success of 2022 Emerging Talent programme.
Speaking about her experiences, she said: "It exceeded expectations, and was eye-opening to see other sides of the business and to see how other departments operate. I now better appreciate how all roles connect in some way. I began to understand that my role as an Event Executive influences finance, but also a domino effect on all departments.
"I’m now clear on how much different department teams can help each other to improve processes for clients, suppliers, and internal teams, and how vital it is that everyone works ‘together’ – which is one of our main values.”
Venues and Events International said its Emerging Talent Programme is now entering its third year, and due to the scale of business growth following the acquisition of Absolute Corporate Events (ACE), sees its highest uptake of applicants to date.
These applicants include:
- Amber Beadle – Conference Planning Executive
- Hannah Giles – Account Manager
- Louise Nortcott – Conference Planning Executive
- Emily Rogers – Wip and Reporting Specialist
- Alanna Wells – Producer
- Helena Finch – Senior Event Manager
