Veteran trade-only flooring specialist Florco welcomed South Swindon MP Sir Robert Buckland for a visit.

The firm has been operating for more than 40 years, and Sir Robert's destination was its new trade centre on the Rushy Platt Industrial Estate in Caen View.
A supporter of local business, Sir Robert thanked the team for opening their business on the Rushy Platt Industrial Estate, which will support local tradespeople.
Speaking to Craig Ashworth, the Florco Trade Counter Manager, the MP said: “I am delighted to see that Florco is supporting local independent businesses and contractors in the Swindon area.
"The trades of Swindon need the convenience of products and services on their doorstep to support their success."

Florco promises customers unrivalled access to the widest range of floor coverings, tools, and accessories, including specialist brands such as Ardex, Mapei, Bostik, and F. Ball, as well as exclusive product brands such as Sierra, Everyroom, and Unity.

The trade centre offers a quick, one-stop shop for all customers who may offer or fit flooring as part of their own offering, with a collection service, walk-in service, and expert advice.

Keen to see and understand the whole flooring business, Sir Robert spent time with the team viewing the on-site warehouse, the products available, the services offered, and how the business was reducing waste.

Craig Ashworth said: “To ensure we’re not adding to landfill, we re-use all the cardboard tubes that carpet is rolled on to. Also, as a group, we have a committed to net zero emissions by 2035."

Sir Robert said: “As we move to net zero emissions by 2050, it’s really important for businesses everywhere, not just the Swindon area to understand their impact on the planet.

"It’s really impressive to see that Florco is continually thinking about ways to reduce its waste.  I also noted the electric charging points, great for customers with electric vans, which I’m seeing more and more of in the Swindon area."

Before leaving the trade centre, Sir Robert Buckland offered advice to the team: “Florco is a real gem to independent trades in Swindon.  It’s vital that the tradespeople in the local area know that Florco is here, talk more and shout a little louder."
