Located in the landscaped gardens of the development on Lowry Way, Swindon, is a high number of native and ornamental wildlife planting species, in addition to integrated bee bricks, terraced sparrow boxes and Manthorpe swift bricks.

80-year-old Mr Manners, homeowner at Gilbert Place, said: “I’m a semi-retired farmer so I do have some ecological experience, and when I saw the fantastic bee bricks, bird boxes and wildlife plants I was absolutely over the moon.
“It’s fantastic to see the team at McCarthy Stone do their bit to help the environment, and it’s truly wonderful to see the bees going in and out of the bricks. I can’t wait to help out with this brilliant project.”
Gilbert Place comprises of a host of one and two-bedroom apartments exclusively designed for the over 70s.
