The firm employs over 100 people at locations in Cricklade and Salisbury, designing and manufacturing bespoke packaging products.

Clirenda Deedie joins Design Manager Mike Poynter, alongside Senior Designer Steve Mann, at the company’s Cricklade-based design studio. GWP says Clirenda, with more than 20 years in the corrugated packaging industry, brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team.

Sales Director, David Mason said: “One of the key areas of focus for us here at GWP is the award-winning, technical design service that we offer. With virtually all of the packaging we manufacture being produced bespoke to the exact requirements of our customers, having a well invested, knowledgeable design team is absolutely crucial.

“We have seen exceptional growth over the last 18 months, and the success of our design service has been integral to this. As Clirenda has the perfect skill set and experience within the packaging industry, we believe she will be a key asset to both the design team and wider business moving forward.”

Clirenda is also looking forward to the prospect of a new challenge and said: “Having worked in the packaging industry for some time, I was aware of the reputation that GWP have for their innovative approach to design. From speaking with the team, I was very impressed with both their existing approach and future plans.

“I am very much looking forward to the new challenge, as well bringing my ideas and experience to what is already a fantastic setup.”

Having been in business for more than 30 years, GWP says its design team has been one of the cornerstones of the company’s success. Packaging designs the team has created have won numerous awards, most notably Starpack “best in show” and “green” accolades given to packaging created for the James Dyson Foundation.

Earlier this year GWP became part of the Macfarlane Group. The wider Macfarlane Group has more than 900 employees, with annual sales of £225m across the UK, Europe, and US.

Macfarlane also places a strong emphasis on design, including a packaging “Innovation Lab” at its Milton Keynes Regional Business Centre. GWP says the similarities and synergies between the two businesses have been credited as amongst the reasons the business became part of the Macfarlane Group of companies.
